Half way through!

Dear all!
Can you believe it, I'm half way through my time here! It's gone so quickly!!! I am thoroughly enjoying myself though. This post will be brief i'm afraid as I don't have much time but here we go....
Firstly, apologies to those of you who found the last post particularly distressing (Uncle Andrew in particular). I'm afriad though that is the tip of the iceberg of what happens out here but i didn't mean to put you off your lunch. This one will be better, promise. Keep reading!
Life here is pretty good. I am missing my friend Cath but i'm being well looked after by the students here. They even snook me into the hostel to watch a movie and I got locked in so guided me to the best way to sneak over the wall so I could go home. It was great fun. They are very good at this sneaking out malarcky but more of that on my return.
I have been out on mobile clinic again to some extremely remote places which is great fun. It takes 2 or more hours to get there some times but at least women are been and babies vaccinated who wouldn't otherwise make it to the hopsital. It's a great service and costs them only 10p so they are happy. The roads though are less like roads and more like farm tracks up massive mountains.
This weekend some of the staff took me to visit a place called Turkwell, it is where the electricity is generated. There is a beautiful lake been created by a dam. When I was walking along it I met a camel!! It was so exciting. Apparently visitors often don't get to see them so I'm very lucky. On the other hand we did not see the elephants I was told live there but i'll see them another time i'm sure.
Anyway, that is my weekend news, I mostly just wanted to tell you all about the Camel!
Looking forward to seeing you soon as I am not halfway through the trip, shocking! Thanks again for the comments I love reading them.
Loads of love, Sarah X

  12. Hi Sarah - good to read of fun and shenanigans (?spelling?) as well as the more serious side of your time there. Hope all still going well. What a week back after my hols... catching up and then Delia's leaving do's! That is only just sinking in - afterall we've worked together for about 21 years! The cake shortage reported above must be a local phenomenon as they were in GREAT ABUNDANCE at Fusehill Street on Thursday... ! Thank you for the Zebra postcard - it was shared round us all! Looking forward to your next post... JanX
